Installing/Using SPSS

Since the lab computers on campus will be using SPSS 26, it would be advised to install SPSS 26 on your device, however, SPSS 27 and 25 are also available. If you have a previous version of SPSS installed on your computer (such as SPSS 24), please uninstall it before installing SPSS 26.

Please keep in mind that SPSS can only be installed on Windows or Mac computers.

Once you have installed the product, you will enter the corresponding code into the Authorization Wizard:

  • SPSS 27 – 610e50a259120403b238
  • SPSS 26 – 543e15bac9b1b52cb20a
  • SPSS 25 – 480c0b166163d2acf4fb

Using SPSS 26 on the CI Virtual Lab

SPSS 26 is also accessible on the CI Virtual Lab (CIVL) for students that do not have Windows or Mac computers.

If students are using the CIVL to work on SPSS assignments or other assignments, it is strongly advised for them to save their work to the Z Drive, or to a cloud-based storage location such as CI Docs. The virtual computer may be wiped at any time, so it is advised not to save important documents to the C Drive, desktop, or documents folders on the virtual computer.

Students are also advised to submit their assignments directly from the virtual computer and may do so by accessing CI Learn/Canvas in one of the Web browsers (such as Chrome) on the virtual computer.

If students have any further issues, they may submit a service request using the ITS Solution Center Link in myCI to request assistance with installing SPSS.
